Compaction aids are used in HOT MIX asphalt.  Compaction aids improve the compaction and workability of the asphalt mix while it is cooling down on its way to the site.  This is not a warm mix process (even though the asphalt cools during shipping). This process has been reviewed and accepted and Pre Tech has a patent on compaction aids in hot mix.

Pre Tech has three different grades of compaction aids in the Re-RAP familiy that cover different aggregates and even acid modified AC.

Re-RAP 3: an ecomical product that is easy to pump.

Re-RAP 5: a dual action product that not only helps with compaction but it also helps proevent stripping.

Re-RAP 9: this product is formulated to work in both polymer modified AC and acid modified AC.
